How to Save – Trucker Discounts and Rewards

With the current state of the economy, many Americans are looking for ways to save money every chance they get. Truck drivers are no exception to those dealing with increased goods and fuel prices. Many companies have acknowledged truck drivers for their essential work and created discounts for them during the pandemic if they did not already have them in place.

We asked our RoadWarriors social media community what some of their favorite truck driver discounts and rewards were, and we received a wide range of feedback. You never know who has a deal for you until you ask! We have categorized some of the top discounts and rewards that our drivers mentioned: Truckstop rewards, Lodging discounts, and Covid-19 Relief. Truck Stop Rewards

Most if not all of the large truck stop chains have rewards; you just need to download their apps to access them! Some of the RoadWarriors favorite rewards were through Love's and Flying J/ Pilot.

Not only does downloading apps like the Pilot Flying J: myRewards Plus on your phone keep you updated on sale items in the store, but it also lets you keep track of fuel points, total savings, and redeem rewards. Some of the RoadWarriors favorite perks from this app were receiving shower credits from fuel rewards and fuel savings.

Love's Connect app works similarly to the Pilot Flying J one and offers different types of membership statuses. You can join their rewards program via the app or in-store with a rewards card. You can earn points to increase your membership status by fueling up at their locations and swiping your membership card. Diamond and Platinum members receive free showers and drink refills every visit.

Don't forget to swipe or scan each time you make a purchase at either truck stop so that you can receive the maximum amount of rewards and perks at these locations.

Lodging Discounts

The second most popular discount in the RaodWarriors group was discounted hotel rates. Drivers reported saving money on hotel rooms at large hotel chains across the country. Savings vary, but it never hurts to call around to hotels in the area and ask if they offer truck driver discounts. Most hotel trucker discounts range from 10 to 30% off the original rate.

The RoadWarriors community has reported using hotel CDL discounts at Holiday Inns, Best Westerns, Hampton Inns, Wyndham hotels, and more! We also recommend checking your current Road Atlas for hotel deals.

Covid-19 Relief

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we saw several companies develop ways to reward truck drivers for their essential services. Many rewards were intended to help truck drivers save money and convenience drivers during the pandemic and are still going on.

We saw restaurants' extra effort to support truck drivers during the pandemic. Several restaurants extended their curbside pick-up to trucks to limit exposure, bringing the food out to you if you call and order ahead at places like Texas Roadhouse and Firehouse Subs.
